Orthopedic Urgent Care Center to Provide Fully Functioning Emergency Medical Tent Staffed by Volunteer Orthopedic Medical Staff
On January 16th-18th, athletes of all ages, volunteers, sponsors, and fitness enthusiasts from around the world will gather at beautiful Bayfront Park in Miami, Florida for the fourth annual Wodapalooza – Miami Fitness Festival. Over the course of the three days, the fittest athletes and spectators on the planet will invade the Miami scene for an action-packed competition and gala presented by Peak 360 Athletic Performance located in South Miami.

Alejandro Badia, M.D. thought there had to be a better way. The Miami hand surgeon was seeing workers comp patients too late. Had he seen them earlier he could have gotten them back to work faster. Instead, they went to the hospital emergency room. In one wrist pain analysis he figured he’d have saved the system over $10,000 per patient and had that patient back to work three months sooner.
So he decided to get into the orthopedic urgent care business.

A new type of urgent care franchise will soon be coming to Los Angeles. The orthopedic care franchise business OrthoNOW, based in Florida, is seeking to expand its operations into Southern California, according to the company’s chief medical officer, Dr. Alejandro Badia.
OrthoNOW’s specialty urgent care centers focus on orthopedic injuries, provide an alternative to the hospital emergency room (ER) and put physicians in the driver’s seat, according to Dr. Badia, a hand and upper limb surgeon and past president of the International Society for Sport Traumatology of the Hand.
